Church Entry Updates
Well we are already in June, although the weather feels more like April. With the wet weather comes less chance to get and out and photograph new churches, also it is taking longer than expected to transfer information from the old site to the new site – its basically a manual process even though I have templates setup for the new site. I also need to concentrate on the business of course and with recent developments with Google this is taking more of my time up. Finally it has become obvious that some of the earlier entries from the...

Recently Google have launched a new product which I am very excited about. If you know Google Streetview then this new venture brings ‘streetview’ inside a building or business. A natural progression from Google in my opinion as this really allows you to explore the interiors as if you were there. I have recently been awarded Google Business Photos status for Leicestershire & Rutland after meeting their strict criteria and passing a multitude of tests and I will be pursuing this great new service with many commercial clients...

I do not watch much TV if the truth be known, firstly I do not have much time for it these days and there seems to be so much nonsense on I have given up. I do of course have a passion for documentaries and although there are perhaps one or two I may take a interest in at the moment there are three great series. Today we have launched our new site and although it looks rather empty, have no fear it will soon be filled with our old data and new churches. The ‘interactive map’ shows all the churches we have completed and you can search for information on them and follow the link. Most of the churches are on the old site www.rutlandchurches.co.uk, but over the next few months they will be gradually moved onto this site. We will also be updating some of the older entries and new information. Also we want your input and I hope the comments...

Well here we are in Mid October and the new site is starting to take shape. We have our basic design in place and can now start moving content across from the old platform into the new site. It will take time, but we hope to add content as we move forward towards the New Year. We do have issues with some of the ‘interactive elements’ and these are having to be re-written for the new platform but this move guarantees the long term future of the site and will be far easier to upgrade in future. There are also exciting features we...
